Privacy policy

This site collects very little, sets no tracking cookies, and keeps no IP addresses of its own. Below is the whole of it, in plain language.

In short

Monarch Digital LLC is a North Carolina company. This policy covers monarch-digital.com and the contact card at /c/. Websites Monarch builds for clients are governed by those organizations’ own policies, not this one.

Page views are counted by two analytics tools: one cookieless, and Google Analytics, which uses a first-party cookie to tell returning visitors from new ones. Neither feeds an advertising network and there is no cross-site tracking. Nothing you do here is sold, shared for marketing, or used to build a profile of you. The only personal information Monarch holds is what you deliberately send through the contact form or a booking.

Effective August 4, 2026. Updated August 17, 2026, when Google Analytics was added.

What is collected
Contact form
Your name, email address, organization, timeline and message — whatever you type. Stored alongside it: the date, the approximate country and city Cloudflare reports for the request, your browser’s user-agent string, and the page you came from.
Mailing list
If you sign up on the resources page, Monarch stores your email address, the date, and the approximate country the request came from. It is used to send occasional notes about new writing and nothing else. The list is never shared, sold, or used for advertising, and every message includes a way out. Ask at any time and the address is deleted.
Booking a call
Scheduling runs through Cal.com. Your name, email and any notes go to Cal.com and are governed by their privacy policy. Monarch sees the resulting booking.
Contact card taps
Tapping one of Monarch’s physical NFC cards records which card was tapped, the time, approximate location, the network the request came from, and basic device, browser and language details. IP addresses are deliberately not stored.
Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views so Monarch knows which pages get read. It sets no cookies, writes nothing to your browser, does not fingerprint your device, and cannot follow you to any other website. Google Analytics also counts page views and basic interactions such as scrolling and outbound clicks; it uses a first-party cookie so returning visitors are not counted as new ones. It is not used for advertising, Google does not show Monarch your IP address, and neither tool runs on the contact card at /c/.
Server logs
Cloudflare processes every request in order to serve the site and defend it from abuse. That processing involves your IP address at the edge. Monarch does not retain those logs.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets a first-party cookie (_ga) that tells returning visitors from new ones. It is the only cookie this site sets, it identifies a browser rather than a person, and it is not used for advertising. The Cal.com booking embed may set its own cookies once you interact with it. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking cookie anywhere on the site. If you prefer not to be counted, Google publishes a browser opt-out.
Why

Contact details are used to answer you and, if we work together, to run the project. The technical details stored with a form submission exist to filter automated spam and to know roughly where enquiries come from. Card-tap records exist so Monarch knows which cards get used and at what kind of event.

None of it feeds advertising, and none of it is sold or rented. If you are in a jurisdiction that requires a legal basis, it is your consent when you submit a form, and Monarch’s legitimate interest in operating and protecting the site.

Who else touches it

Five companies process data on Monarch’s behalf. Each has its own privacy policy.

Cloudflare
Hosting, content delivery, cookieless page-view analytics, and storage of form submissions and tap records.
Google Analytics
Counts page views and basic interactions so Monarch knows which pages get read. Not used for advertising, and Monarch never sees your IP address through it.
Cal.com
Scheduling, if you book a call.
Resend
Delivers form submissions to Monarch by email.
Google Fonts
Serves the typefaces this site uses. Loading a font makes a request to Google, which means Google receives your IP address. No account or cookie is involved.
How long

Enquiries are kept for as long as the conversation is live and, if it becomes a project, for as long as Monarch needs a record of the engagement. Enquiries that go nowhere are cleared periodically. Card-tap records are kept for two years. Anything can be deleted sooner if you ask.

Your say

Write to support@monarch-digital.com and you can ask for a copy of everything Monarch holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You can also tell Monarch not to contact you again, which is honoured immediately.

Requests are answered within 30 days and there is no charge. Depending on where you live these may be rights rather than courtesies — the response is the same either way, so no one has to work out which applies to them.

Children

This is a business-to-business site and is not directed at children. Monarch does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent something through this site, write to support@monarch-digital.com and it will be deleted.

Security and changes

The site is served over HTTPS and submissions are stored in access-controlled Cloudflare infrastructure. Access is limited to Monarch’s founder. No system is perfect, and Monarch will not claim otherwise.

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Anything that materially affects what is collected or who processes it will be called out here rather than quietly edited in.
